Noel Borg Facility Manager, Zammit Clapp Hospital Residential Home
Noel Borg has been appointed as the new Facility Manager of the newly residential facility, Zammit Clapp Hospital. Qualified as a nurse by profession and having worked in the cardiac intensive care unit at Mater Dei Hospital, Noel joined the group in October 2005 as a staff nurse and later on the years as a deputy manager. Last year Noel was appointed as Facility Manager of Casa Arkati Mosta where he was responsible for the overall management of the home. Noel holds a Diploma in Health Science (Nursing), BSc. (Hons) Nursing, International Diploma in Human Resources and Personnel management and has recently completed a Masters of Arts in Bioethics. Noel is also a member of the Military and Hospitalier Order of St.Lazarns of Jerusalem.
Robert Grech Facility Manager, Villa Messina, Rabat
A Physiotherapist by profession since 1989, Robert joined the group in September 2009 as Facility Manager of Villa Messina Home in Rabat and has been running the home’s operations since then. Robert holds a Diploma in Physiotherapy and a Diploma in Management.
Sandro Rossi Facility Manager, Roseville, Attard
A qualified nurse by profession, Sandro joined the group in September 2012 as Facility Manager for Roseville. Sandro holds a Masters in Health Studies researching Elder Abuse. Graduated in 1994, Sandro worked in a general hospital for 2 years, in a rehabilitation hospital for the elderly since 1996. Since 2007 he worked as a Nursing Officer in the same setting.
Lee Xuereb Facility Manager, Prince of Wales Residences & Mellieha Home
Lee Xuereb has been appointed as Facility Manager of Prince of Wales Residence and Dar il-Madonna tal-Mellieha. He succeeds Paul Pace who had been managing the facilities for the past 3 years. A Masters graduate in Occupational Psychology, Lee comes from a Social Services background having worked with Caritas for a number of years. In August 2008, Lee joined the group as Central Support Manager where he also assisted Zejtun, Bormla, Villa Messina and Casa Arkati. For the past year and a half, Lee has managed only Zejtun Home were he was responsabile for the running the facility..
Janet Silvio Facility Manager, Cospicua Home
A qualified accountant by profession, Janet joined Care Malta on 30th June 2009 following her return to Malta after an 18-month career break during which she travelled in South-East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and Australia. As Facility Manager of Cospicua Home, Janet oversees and coordinates all the aspects of running the home. Janet graduated in accounts and management in 2001 through the Malta Institute of Accounts and has been a warranted accountant since 2003. Janet is also the editor of Caremalta’s first publication ‘100 women,100 stories’ launched in March 2011 to mark the 100th anniversary of the International Women's Day.
Tonio Pace` Facility Manager, Zejtun Home
A nurse by profession, Tonio Pace has recently been appointed as the new Facility Manager of
Zejtun Home. Tonio has been in nursing since 1985 were throughout the years he worked
in Medical wards for 12 consecutive years, 3 years in a Drug Rehabilitation Unit, 12 years in Operating Theatres (Anaesthesia) and very recently he was promoted as a Nursing Officer where he was recently in charge of an Acute Emergency Admitting Ward in Mater Dei Hospital. Throughout these years he has mentored, supervised nursing students and made part of the examination board of the Faculty and Health Science in the University of Malta. He conducted lectures on various nursing topics, mainly those pertaining to Operating Theatres and the role
of the Anaesthetic Nurse throughout the perioperative experience. He attended various
conferences and symposia both locally and internationally where he also presented papers
on various nursing topics.
Catherine Xuereb Assistant Facility Manager, Zejtun Hom
A qualified nurse by profession, Catherine joined CareMalta in September 2012 as Assistant
Facility Manager of Zejtun Home. She started her career at Karen Grech Hospital working as a theatre nurse and after a few years she took up a managerial position in a pharmaceutical firm. Later Catherine was appointed Senior Executive Manager at a Not-for-profit organisation primarily responsible for participation in European Union programs providing administrative advice to project managers and monitoring the progress of the operations.
Carl Caruana Facility Manager, Casa Arkati
Backed by 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Carl started off his career as Night Manager at The Bugibba Holiday Complex. In 1994, he was promoted as Front Office Duty Manager at the newly built Coastline Hotel in Salina Bay. Over the years, he managed a 300 bed Aparthotel in Xemxija, and later took the responsibility of Front Office Manager at the Radisson Blu Golden Sands Resort & Spa.
Josianne Sammut Deputy Manager, Casa Arkati
Josianne Sammut has been appointed as Deputy Manager at Casa Arkati. A nurse by profession, Josianne joined Care Malta in 2001 after returning from the UK where she obtained a Diploma as Learning support Assistant and worked for 3 years with special needs children in Wales. In Malta, she followed a nursing course, and worked as a care assistant, nurse and deputy matron at Casa Arkati. Also employed at Mater Dei Hospital in the Emergency Unit, backed by 10 years experience in the surgical field, with Tissue viability being her main interest. She is currently also reading a BSc Course in Health science.
